As per official norms, 13 new districts have been created in Andhra Pradesh. Today all these districts have come into presence in the state. After the formation of 13 new districts in the state by the Jagan Mohan Reddy government, now the total number of districts has increased to 26.
Formation of 13 New Districts In Andhra Pradesh [Ap State New Districts]
AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy had directed the officials to simplify the office assignment process for the new districts. The officials were invited to report their attendance at all the new 13 district offices on 4 April 2022 and start working. The state government had in January issued a draft notification to create 26 districts out of the existing 13 and invited suggestions and objections.

On 6th April, the CM will compliment all the volunteers working tirelessly in the formation of 13 new districts in all the village and ward secretariats. The YSR Congress government led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy reshuffled IAS and IPS officers and appointed DMs and SPs in new districts.
List of New Districts of Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh government has created 13 new districts in the state. These districts came into existence on April 4 after the government gazette notification. Till now there were 13 districts in Andhra Pradesh, after the addition of the new 13 districts, now the number of districts in the state has increased to 26. Check the list of the new districts –
- Manyam district was carved out of Vizianagaram district
- Anakapalli district carved out of Visakhapatnam district
- Alluri Sitaram Raju became a caterer from the Visakhapatnam district
- The new district Palnadu was carved out of the Guntur district.
- Bapatla was carved out of the Guntur district
- The new district Nandyal was formed from the Kurnool district
- Kakinada district was carved out of East Godavari district
- Konaseema was carved out of the East Godavari district
- Eluru carved out of West Godavari district
- Sri Sathya Sai district was carved out of Anantapur
- NT Rama Rao district carved out of the existing Krishna district
- Sri Balaji was carved out of the Chittoor district
- The new district Annamaya was carved out of the Cuddapah district.
Andhra Pradesh New Districts Names List 2022
In January, the Andhra Pradesh government issued a draft notification to create 26 districts out of the existing 13. Suggestions and objections were invited regarding this. In the 2019 assembly elections, CM Reddy had promised that his party would make every Lok Sabha constituency a district if voted to power in the state.

From April 4, Andhra Pradesh will have 13 new districts are added now in the old district list. So, there is a total number of districts now 26. Officials in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) told that the method of forming new districts has been done, and Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy will initiate the new districts on the date i.e. 04th April 2022.
The Chief Minister will start every district’s portals and handbooks to create it possible for citizens to understand the new districts. Officials have been straightforward to streamline the office providing method, stating that officers will be needed to presume ownership of the district office on the date i.e. 14th April 2022.
