As per the latest news sources, Kendriya Vidyalaya (KVS) has increased the minimum age limit of kids for Class 1 admission from 5 years to 6 years. Inquiring this, a Court Case has been filed in the Delhi High Court.

Out of the first 5 years in this, the first 3 years are for Pre School i.e. Nursery, LKG, and UKG. The remaining two years are for Classes 1 and 2. As per the NEP, the foundational stage of school education covers the age of 3 to 8 years.
The council said that ‘we have appealed to all the states to adopt a new education policy. At present, there are 21 states where the age limit of 6 years and above are also followed for class 1 admission.
