Atal Bhujal Yojana has been launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Under this scheme, the groundwater of the country has to be made available in every household. Atal Bhujal Yojana (ABY) 2023 – Complete Guidelines
The Atal Bhujal Scheme is also known as “AtalJal Yojana”. According to the AtalJal Yojana, behavioral changes are to be made at the community level by managing sustainable groundwater in seven states, namely Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. With the implementation of this scheme, about 8350 Gram Panchayat will be benefited in 78 districts of these seven states.
Atal Jal Yojana 2023 – Funded By
For the Atal Ground Water Scheme, the government has passed a budget of Rs. 6000 crores, in which Rs. 3000 crores will be in the form of World Bank loan and it will be repaid by the Central Government. The remaining Rs 3000 crore will be given with regular budgetary support. The tenure year for the ABY 2023 has been fixed for 5 year. Guidelines have also been issued for the Atal Water Scheme and 15 crore households will get water by 2024 under this scheme. For this, the government has set a target of spending Rs 3.6 lakh crore.

Tunnel Under Rohtang Pass
The decision to build a strategic tunnel under the Rohtang Pass was taken by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. This tunnel is 8.8 kilometers long and 3,000 meters above sea level, the longest tunnel in the world. Through this tunnel, the distance between Manali and Leh will be reduced by 46 kilometers and will save crores of rupees in transportation costs. It is a 10.5 m wide single tube by-lane tunnel, with a fire retardant emergency tunnel constructed within the main tunnel itself. Success on both ends was achieved on October 15, 2017. The tunnel is nearing completion and is always a step towards providing connectivity to the remote border areas of Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh, which would otherwise have been continuously cut off from the rest of the country for about 6 months during the winter.
